After Hours At The Woodlands

What:

Staying in Philly during Fall Break?  Feeling gothic?  Want to discover one of the nicest places nearby to take Victorian-inspired photos?  Come with us, Oscar and Lidia, to “After Hours At The Woodlands” this Friday, October 15

Some of you may have already visited this gorgeous botanical garden and cemetery. But… have you been there… *at night*?

Explore The Woodlands at sunset and after dark.  BYO blankets (plus picnic and beverages, if you wish), warm up by a fire pit, wander the historic Hamilton Core of The Woodlands by moonlight, and get into the mood for Halloween with “Music at The Mansion,” a spooky outdoor concert by the Philadelphia Viola Quartet at 6:30pm. The Quartet will feature stories and music by composers old and new –ranging from Bach, Mozart, and Piazzolla to The Beatles– in arrangements specially selected for this concert.

PLEASE NOTE: The grounds will only be open after 5pm to members and “After Hours” ticket holders.  Registration is required, and it will close at 12PM on the day of the event.  For that reason, we ask that you please RSVP at lleon@upenn.edu or omontoya@upenn.edu at your earliest convenience before Friday 11AM, so that we can get tickets for the group.

We will leave from KCECH’s main door by 5:45 pm and arrive there, on foot, about fifteen minutes later.  That way, we can have 30 minutes of (dim) daylight, in case you want to take artistic photographs before the concert begins ?.  We will be back in KCECH by 8:15 or 8:30 tops --just in time for International Movie Night with Krimo!

When:

Friday October 15th, 2021 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
