Job Overview: The Perspectives in Humanities Manager is an individual interested in cultivating a community that celebrates all the humanities have to offer. This manager works with the KCECH staff and program residents to ensure activities are fun and informative.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Event planning and logistics (budgeting, arranging transportation, assembling supplies, purchasing tickets, collecting co-payments, monitoring attendance, etc.)
- Event participation and engagement (and instilling the same in students)
- Encouraging program members to share their own voices and perspectives.
- Working to build a constructive environment for members to discuss, debate, and create.
- Assessing programming initiatives to adapt in response to current circumstances and house interests.
- Maintaining regular communication with senior staff.
- Participating actively in other house events
- Attending weekly board meetings.
Qualifications:
- The PiH manager need not be majoring in a humanities field; all that is necessary is a passion for discussing art, literature, history, philosophy, and more!
- Resourceful in locating and promoting humanities events and resources on campus, in the wider community, and online.
- Community and team-oriented
- Organizational skills
- Ability to encourage leadership and participation
