Shamya Karumbaiah

Graduate Associate
KC2 - STWing

Hello!! And welcome to KCECH. If you are interested in STEM, I would love to have a chat with you about our STWing program.

I’m a doctoral student at the Penn Center for Learning Analytics, and I research in the intersection of machine learning and learning sciences. In the past couple of years, I have worked on using machine learning to improve student engagement in virtual learning environments like learning games, online tutoring systems, and augmented reality systems through modeling student affect, behavior, and cognition.

I have a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Mysore, India. I also had a corporate stint at Cisco for four years building algorithms for supply chain management and other artificial intelligence solutions.

If you would like to join me in my yoga and meditation practice, or go on a hike, come find me.
