Women in Computer Science Manager

Job Overview: The Women in Computer Science (WiCS) manager is a leader among peers who assists in promoting a supportive learning community for women interested in computer science. This manager creates programming and opportunities for the students including hosting various workshops, field trips, outreach programs, dinner discussions, and socials. Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Event planning and logistics (budgeting, arranging transportation, assembling supplies, purchasing tickets, collecting co-payments, monitoring attendance, etc.)
  • Event participation and engagement (and instilling the same in students)
  • Maintaining regular communication with senior staff.
  • Support college house staff, initiatives, and programs. 
  • Participating actively in other house events; attending weekly board meetings.
  • Search for funding opportunities and ways to collaborate with other organizations on campus.

Qualifications:

  • Passion and vision for promoting women in computer science and STEM. 
  • Knows how to plan, lead, communicate, and organize. 
  • Community and team oriented
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to encourage leadership and participation in others.
