ABOUT KCECH
Living-Learning Programs

[BACK]

KCECH Living Learning Programs foster a community atmosphere to help further the interests of the students outside the rigors of studies. The Living Learning Programs are all hosted in King's Court.

Science and Technology Wing:

Living, Learning, Technology, Science, Knowledge, World Domination... The Science and Technology Wing at the University of Pennsylvania is a collection of over two hundred undergraduates, graduate students, professors, and alumni sharing a strong interest in the science and technology which permeates our everyday lives. Our members pursue a wide variety of research projects, for formal academic credit or personal interest. We also host dinner discussions with University faculty and staff, as well as holding several quirky social events throughout the year (for example, "How to Cook the Perfect Soufflé"? -- The Science Behind Cooking"). If you love "The Matrix," are hooked on computers and want a fantastic freshman living experience, join us!

Perspectives in Humanities:

PIH Home is where the ART is! Join Perspectives in Humanities and live with students of diverse backgrounds, drawn together by a common passion for the humanities. Expect eclectic movie nights, orchestra and theater outings, poetry readings, special workshops with poets & musicians, tours of museums, pizza parties and weekly bagel brunches, the Forum for Penn Authors, exclusive dinner discussions with humanities scholars, collaborative events with the Writer's House, and more! Art. Music. Literature. Culture. History. Humanity!

Biosphere:

What does living in the Biosphere program mean? It's about how people interact with the environment around them. Both social and academic events are held throughout the year as we explore all that Penn and Philadelphia have to offer. Whether you are a pre-medical student interested in community service, an environmental engineer trying to save the rainforest, or a soon-to-be CEO thinking of how to make millions in HMO's, the Biosphere program can offer a great living and learning experience unlike any other.

Located on the 3rd floor of King's Court, this program fosters global awareness of economic, cultural, social, linguistic, and technological issues in the international arena. Enrollment in the Huntsman Program is not required to participate in the residential component of the program. However, first-year students accepted into the academic program must live in Kings Court.
